About die casting die life
Die life refers to the number of parts that can be molded while maintaining the quality of the parts. It includes the total number of parts formed by repeated sharpening and replacement of wear parts until the main part of the die is replaced.
The failure of the mold is divided into abnormal failure and normal failure. The abnormal failure (early failure) means that the mold cannot be put into service when it has not reached the recognized life span under certain industrial level. Early failure is in the form of plastic deformation, fracture, local severe wear and so on. Normal failure means that the mold is used by mass production and cannot continue to serve due to slow plastic deformation or more uniform wear or fatigue fracture.
Mould normal life
Before the normal failure of the mold, the number of qualified products produced, called the normal life of the mold, referred to as the mold life, the number of qualified products produced before the first repair of the mold, called the first life; the number of qualified products produced after a repair of the mold to the next repair, called the repair life of the mold. Mold life is the sum of the first life and each repair life.
Mold life is related to the shape and structure of the mold, it is a certain period of time mold material performance, mold design and manufacturing level. It is a comprehensive reflection of mold material performance, mold design and manufacturing level, mold heat treatment level and use and maintenance level in a certain period of time. The life of the mold reflects the level of metallurgical industry and machinery manufacturing industry of a region and a country to a certain extent.
